American Allied Health PTA Program Overview

American Allied Health (AAH) offers a 100% online Certified Physical Therapy Aide (CPTA) certification via a secure, computer-based testing portal. It’s designed for individuals who have already completed a PT aide training program or possess related job experience—such as one year in the field or relevant military training—so they can take the national exam and earn a recognized credential.

After registering (fee: $105), candidates receive free study materials and unlimited practice exams. They upload eligibility proof—like transcripts, a letter from an employer, or military DD 214—within 1–2 business days. Once approved, they can take the exam online from home or at a testing site. Results are immediate, and certification is granted instantly.

Starting February 3, 2025, the CPTA exam content will be updated to reflect six core competencies: Medical Terminology, Law & Ethics, Safety & Infection Control, Anatomy & Physiology, PT Modalities, and Conditions treated with PT. A premium study guide is available for $39, and renewal requires annual dues of $32 plus 5 CE credits -renewable easily through the AAH platform.

This certification helps aide professionals stand out, work in diverse settings – from hospitals and rehab centers to sports medicine programs—and potentially earn higher pay. AAH supports continuing education and offers free retakes, streamlined renewal, and nationally recognized credentials that many employers prefer.
