Arapahoe Community College (Exp) PTA Program Overview
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) offers a comprehensive, hands-on education for those looking to start a rewarding healthcare career. Accredited by CAPTE, the PTA program is available at both the Littleton campus and Sturm Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock – making it accessible across Denver’s south metro area. Fall cohorts begin each year in Littleton, while spring cohorts (odd years) are hosted at Castle Rock.
Students earn an Associate of Applied Science degree after completing 75-77 credit hours over five semesters, including one summer term. The curriculum blends general education with major courses like Anatomical Kinesiology, Neurological Assessment and Management Techniques, clinical internships, and professional communication skills. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and complete prerequisites such as biology and English composition before applying online between April 1-May 23 for fall admission.
In-state tuition is approximately $14,020 total; out-of-state students pay about $44,195. Additional fees include textbooks ($3,200 total), institutional fees ($856), plus costs related to background checks or immunizations required for clinical placements—which can be found throughout Metro Denver but do not require relocation.
Graduates are eligible to take the National Physical Therapist Assistant Exam for Colorado licensure—a credential recognized in many other states as well—and find strong job prospects locally due to demand from hospitals, rehab centers and outpatient clinics serving growing communities around Littleton and Castle Rock.
