Frederick Community College PTA Program Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) program at Frederick Community College (FCC) in Frederick, Maryland, is a selective admissions program designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce as licensed PTAs. Accredited by CAPTE as of April 2024, FCC’s PTA program combines classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory practice, and over 600 hours of supervised clinical experiences across diverse healthcare settings—including local hospitals and clinics serving the Frederick area.
Students complete approximately 70 credits over six semesters (about two years), with prerequisites including college-level biology and statistics.
